Acne Subcision
Acne subcision is a minimally invasive procedure used to treat acne scars, particularly those that are depressed or have a "pitted" appearance. During the treatment, a blunt tip cannula is inserted beneath the skin to break up the fibrous tissue that is causing the scar to remain tethered to deeper layers of skin. This helps to release the scar, allowing the skin to lift and smooth out over time.
The procedure is typically performed under local anesthesia and can take anywhere from 20 to 30 minutes. It’s often combined with other treatments like dermal fillers or microneedling for enhanced results. Subcision stimulates collagen production, which improves the texture and appearance of the skin, making it a popular choice for individuals seeking to reduce the visibility of acne scars.
